Clarke hopes to see May at the meeting of the Unitarian clergy at the Berry Street Vestry. Clarke requests May to bring with him "an authentic record" of the speech on slavery that he delivered in Taunton, England. Clarke warns May that the Boston Unitarian ministers felt May had "spoken with severity of them."
